Making sense of the numbers
Welcome to John D Owen Chartered Accountants
We hope that your experience in viewing our services is stimulating and helps dispel the view that Chartered Accountants are boring old fuddy-duddies.
Our company was established in 1956 in Shelton, a local area famous for it’s steel works. If you are not familiar with our local area, you may know it as the Potteries or the home of internationally famous companies such as Royal Doulton, Spode and Wedgwood, others know it as the birth place of Reginald Mitchell (the designer of the Spitfire fighter aeroplane) and the pop star, Robbie Williams.
We moved to our current location in 1965 and have expanded from the original single building to the current three properties. We believe in using our own business experience to help clients to develop their own business and to dispel the mysticism and jargon that is all too common.
Our commitment to a fast, efficient and tailored service is key to our approach in assisting clients achieve their own potential. Don’t be put off by this, we won’t force you into buying services, if you want a basic accounts and tax solution, we can provide a good package at a competitive price.
We encourage our staff to keep their own skills up to date, as it is only through these personal skills and enthusiasm that we can guide our clients. We enjoy using computers and view them as way of providing the service our clients need. We have helped many clients through the threshold of computing their own accounting requirements but if you use paper records we can “tick and add” with the best of them.
Although we have a strong local presence our outlook is to a wider audience, with clients throughout the UK. With the Web, e-mails and faxes, distance is no longer a barrier.
